Core i3-1005G1 vs Xeon E5-450 comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-1005G1 performs better than the Xeon E5-450. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-450 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-450 has significantly more cores than the Core i3-1005G1. Indeed, the Xeon E5-450 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i3-1005G1. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-450 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1005G1. A Core i3-1005G1 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-450 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Xeon E5-450 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-1005G1
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-1005G1 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
