Core i3-1005G1 vs Xeon E3-1230 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E3-1230 performs better than the Core i3-1005G1. Despite this, the Core i3-1005G1 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E3-1230 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i3-1005G1 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-1005G1. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E3-1230 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-1005G1. Also, the Xeon E3-1230 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i3-1005G1 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1230 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i3-1005G1 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
