Core 2 Quad Q6600 vs Core 2 Duo E7500 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core 2 Quad Q6600 performs better than the Core 2 Duo E7500. Despite this, the Core 2 Duo E7500 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core 2 Quad Q6600 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Core 2 Duo E7500 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Core 2 Duo E7500. With our hardware info, we find that the Core 2 Duo E7500 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core 2 Quad Q6600. The Core 2 Duo E7500 outputs less heat than Core 2 Quad Q6600 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core 2 Quad Q6600 has more L2 cache than the Core 2 Duo E7500

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core 2 Quad Q6600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
