Core 2 Duo E8400 vs PRO A8-8600B benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the PRO A8-8600B performs better than the Core 2 Duo E8400. Despite this, the Core 2 Duo E8400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the PRO A8-8600B has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core 2 Duo E8400 has a significantly higher clock speed than the PRO A8-8600B. The PRO A8-8600B outputs less heat than Core 2 Duo E8400 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core 2 Duo E8400 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the PRO A8-8600B
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core 2 Duo E8400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
