Celeron N5105 vs Core i7-4600M comparison

In our benchmarks, the Celeron N5105 beats the Core i7-4600M in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-4600M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Celeron N5105 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i7-4600M has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-4600M has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron N5105. A Celeron N5105 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4600M CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron N5105 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
