Celeron N4120 vs Core i7-4610M comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron N4120 is faster than the Core i7-4610M. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-4610M in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron N4120 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-4610M. Indeed, the Celeron N4120 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i7-4610M. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-4610M has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron N4120. A Celeron N4120 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4610M CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron N4120 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
