Celeron N4100 vs Core i7-5500U specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-5500U is faster than the Celeron N4100. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron N4100 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron N4100 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-5500U. Indeed, the Celeron N4100 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i7-5500U. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-5500U has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron N4100. A Celeron N4100 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-5500U CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Celeron N4100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
