Celeron N4100 vs Core i5-4310U specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-4310U is faster than the Celeron N4100. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron N4100 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron N4100 has significantly more cores than the Core i5-4310U. Indeed, the Celeron N4100 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i5-4310U. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-4310U has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron N4100. A Celeron N4100 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-4310U CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron N4100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
