Celeron N4100 vs A8-5500B specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the A8-5500B beats the Celeron N4100 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron N4100 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Celeron N4100 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the A8-5500B has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A8-5500B has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron N4100.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron N4100 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
