Celeron N2840 vs Pentium N3710 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Pentium N3710 beats the Celeron N2840 in overall performance. Despite this, the Celeron N2840 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Pentium N3710 has significantly more cores than the Celeron N2840. Indeed, the Pentium N3710 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Celeron N2840. It also has more threads than the Celeron N2840. With our hardware info, we find that the Celeron N2840 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Pentium N3710. The Pentium N3710 outputs less heat than Celeron N2840 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron N2840 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
