Celeron J6412 vs Core i3-N305 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-N305 performs better than the Celeron J6412. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron J6412 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N305 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Celeron J6412 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron J6412. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Celeron J6412 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-N305. A Celeron J6412 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-N305 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-N305 has significantly more L2 cache than the Celeron J6412. The Core i3-N305 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Celeron J6412 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
