Celeron J4125 vs Core i7-4510U benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Celeron J4125 performs better than the Core i7-4510U. Despite this, the Core i7-4510U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron J4125 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-4510U. Indeed, the Celeron J4125 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i7-4510U. But they both have the same number of threads. In terms of clock speed, the Celeron J4125 and Core i7-4510U are identical in this regard. A Celeron J4125 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4510U CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron J4125 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
