In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron J4125 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-3540M. Indeed, the Celeron J4125 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i7-3540M. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-3540M has a significantly higher clock speed than the Celeron J4125. A Celeron J4125 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-3540M CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron J4125 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
