Celeron J4105 vs Core 2 Duo E8400 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Celeron J4105 beats the Core 2 Duo E8400 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core 2 Duo E8400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron J4105 has significantly more cores than the Core 2 Duo E8400. Indeed, the Celeron J4105 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core 2 Duo E8400. It also has more threads than the Core 2 Duo E8400. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core 2 Duo E8400 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron J4105. A Celeron J4105 CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron J4105 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
