Celeron J3455 vs Pentium Gold G6405 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Pentium Gold G6405 is faster than the Celeron J3455. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron J3455 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron J3455 has significantly more cores than the Pentium Gold G6405. Indeed, the Celeron J3455 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Pentium Gold G6405. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium Gold G6405 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Celeron J3455. A Celeron J3455 CPU outputs less heat than a Pentium Gold G6405 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron J3455 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
