Celeron J3455 vs Core 2 Duo E8200 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Celeron J3455 beats the Core 2 Duo E8200 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core 2 Duo E8200 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron J3455 has significantly more cores than the Core 2 Duo E8200. Indeed, the Celeron J3455 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core 2 Duo E8200. It also has more threads than the Core 2 Duo E8200. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core 2 Duo E8200 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron J3455. A Celeron J3455 CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Duo E8200 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron J3455 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
