Celeron J1900 vs Celeron N2840 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron J1900 is faster than the Celeron N2840. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron N2840 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron J1900 has significantly more cores than the Celeron N2840. Indeed, the Celeron J1900 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Celeron N2840. It also has more threads than the Celeron N2840. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Celeron N2840 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron J1900. The Celeron N2840 outputs less heat than Celeron J1900 thanks to a much lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron J1900 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
