Celeron G5905 vs Xeon E5-450 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-450 is faster than the Celeron G5905. Despite this, the Celeron G5905 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-450 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Celeron G5905 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron G5905. With our hardware info, we find that the Celeron G5905 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-450. A Celeron G5905 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-450 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron G5905 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
