Celeron G5905 vs Athlon II X4 640 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron G5905 is faster than the Athlon II X4 640. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Athlon II X4 640 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Athlon II X4 640 has significantly more cores than the Celeron G5905. Indeed, the Athlon II X4 640 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Celeron G5905. It also has more threads than the Celeron G5905. With our hardware info, we find that the Celeron G5905 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Athlon II X4 640.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Celeron G5905 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
