Celeron G550 vs FX-9800P comparison

In our benchmarks, the Celeron G550 beats the FX-9800P in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-9800P in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the FX-9800P has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Celeron G550 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron G550. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9800P has a slightly higher clock speed than the Celeron G550. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-9800P has significantly more L2 cache than the Celeron G550

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Celeron G550 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
