Celeron G4920 vs Core i5-5300U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-5300U is faster than the Celeron G4920. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron G4920 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i5-5300U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Celeron G4920 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-5300U. The Core i5-5300U outputs less heat than Celeron G4920 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Celeron G4920 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron G4920 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
