Celeron G3920 vs Core 2 Quad Q9400 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core 2 Quad Q9400 is faster than the Celeron G3920. Despite this, the Celeron G3920 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core 2 Quad Q9400 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Celeron G3920 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron G3920. With our hardware info, we find that the Celeron G3920 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core 2 Quad Q9400. A Celeron G3920 CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Quad Q9400 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core 2 Quad Q9400 has more L2 cache than the Celeron G3920
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Celeron G3920 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
