Celeron G1840 vs Core i7 Q 720 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron G1840 is faster than the Core i7 Q 720. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7 Q 720 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7 Q 720 has significantly more cores than the Celeron G1840. Indeed, the Core i7 Q 720 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Celeron G1840. It also has more threads than the Celeron G1840. With our hardware info, we find that the Celeron G1840 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7 Q 720. The info from our database shows that the Celeron G1840 has more L2 cache than the Core i7 Q 720. Despite this, the Core i7 Q 720 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Celeron G1840.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron G1840 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
