Celeron 1005M vs Core i7-4712MQ benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron 1005M is faster than the Core i7-4712MQ. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-4712MQ in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-4712MQ has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Celeron 1005M has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron 1005M. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-4712MQ has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Celeron 1005M. A Celeron 1005M CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4712MQ CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron 1005M has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
