Athlon X4 860K vs Xeon E5-440 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Athlon X4 860K is faster than the Xeon E5-440. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-440 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-440 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Athlon X4 860K that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Athlon X4 860K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-440. In terms of cache, the Xeon E5-440 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Athlon X4 860K
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Athlon X4 860K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
