Athlon Silver 3050U vs N100 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Athlon Silver 3050U beats the N100 in overall performance. Despite this, the N100 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the N100 has significantly more cores than the Athlon Silver 3050U. Indeed, the N100 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Athlon Silver 3050U. It also has more threads than the Athlon Silver 3050U. With our hardware info, we find that the Athlon Silver 3050U has a significantly higher clock speed than the N100. In terms of cache, the N100 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Athlon Silver 3050U. The N100 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Athlon Silver 3050U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
