Athlon II X4 651 vs Athlon 3000G benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Athlon 3000G is faster than the Athlon II X4 651. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Athlon II X4 651 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Athlon II X4 651 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Athlon 3000G has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Athlon 3000G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Athlon II X4 651. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Athlon II X4 651 has significantly more L2 cache than the Athlon 3000G
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Athlon II X4 651 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
