Athlon II X4 635 vs Xeon E5-450 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-450 is faster than the Athlon II X4 635. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Athlon II X4 635 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-450 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Athlon II X4 635. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon E5-450 has significantly more L2 cache than the Athlon II X4 635

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Athlon II X4 635 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
