A8-9600 vs Xeon E3-1220 v5 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E3-1220 v5 beats the A8-9600 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-9600 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-9600 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1220 v5. Despite this, the Xeon E3-1220 v5 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A A8-9600 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1220 v5 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A8-9600 has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon E3-1220 v5
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the A8-9600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
