A8-9600 vs Pentium G4520 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-9600 is faster than the Pentium G4520. Despite this, the Pentium G4520 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the A8-9600 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Pentium G4520 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G4520. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium G4520 has a slightly higher clock speed than the A8-9600. The Pentium G4520 outputs less heat than A8-9600 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the A8-9600 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Pentium G4520
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A8-9600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
