A8-7650K vs Pentium Silver J5040 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-7650K is faster than the Pentium Silver J5040. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Pentium Silver J5040 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Pentium Silver J5040 has significantly more cores than the A8-7650K. Indeed, the Pentium Silver J5040 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the A8-7650K. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the A8-7650K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium Silver J5040. The Pentium Silver J5040 outputs less heat than A8-7650K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the A8-7650K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
