A8-7650K vs Core i7-2630QM specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-2630QM is faster than the A8-7650K. Despite this, the A8-7650K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-2630QM has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the A8-7650K that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A8-7650K. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-7650K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-2630QM. Also, the A8-7650K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-2630QM outputs less heat than A8-7650K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the A8-7650K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
