A8-7650K vs A8-9600 comparison

In our benchmarks, the A8-9600 beats the A8-7650K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-7650K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the A8-9600 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the A8-7650K that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A8-7650K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the A8-9600. Also, the A8-7650K has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A8-7650K has significantly more L2 cache than the A8-9600

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A8-7650K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
