A8-7600 vs Core i7-4600M benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-7600 is faster than the Core i7-4600M. Despite this, the Core i7-4600M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the A8-7600 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-4600M. Also, the A8-7600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-4600M outputs less heat than A8-7600 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A8-7600 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
