A8-6600K vs Core i7-5600U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-6600K is faster than the Core i7-5600U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-5600U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A8-6600K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-5600U. Also, the A8-6600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-5600U outputs less heat than A8-6600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the A8-6600K has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-5600U
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A8-6600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
