A8-6600K vs Celeron N5105 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron N5105 is faster than the A8-6600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-6600K in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron N5105 has significantly more cores than the A8-6600K. Indeed, the Celeron N5105 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the A8-6600K. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-6600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Celeron N5105. The Celeron N5105 outputs less heat than A8-6600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A8-6600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
