A8-6500 vs Xeon X5680 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X5680 is faster than the A8-6500. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-6500 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon X5680 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the A8-6500 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A8-6500. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-6500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5680. Also, the A8-6500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A A8-6500 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5680 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the A8-6500 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5680

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A8-6500 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
