A8-6500 vs Core i7-860 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-860 is faster than the A8-6500. Despite this, the A8-6500 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-860 has significantly more cores than the A8-6500. Indeed, the Core i7-860 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the A8-6500. It also has more threads than the A8-6500. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-6500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-860. Also, the A8-6500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A A8-6500 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-860 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A8-6500 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
