A8-6500 vs Core i5-750 benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-750 beats the A8-6500 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-6500 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-750 has significantly more cores than the A8-6500. Indeed, the Core i5-750 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the A8-6500. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A8-6500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-750. Also, the A8-6500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A A8-6500 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-750 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the A8-6500 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
