A8-6410 vs Core 2 Duo E7400 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-6410 is faster than the Core 2 Duo E7400. Despite this, the Core 2 Duo E7400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the A8-6410 has significantly more cores than the Core 2 Duo E7400. Indeed, the A8-6410 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core 2 Duo E7400. It also has more threads than the Core 2 Duo E7400. With our hardware info, we find that the Core 2 Duo E7400 has a slightly higher clock speed than the A8-6410. A A8-6410 CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Duo E7400 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core 2 Duo E7400 has significantly more L2 cache than the A8-6410
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A8-6410 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
