A8-6410 vs A9-9420 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A9-9420 is faster than the A8-6410. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-6410 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the A8-6410 has significantly more cores than the A9-9420. Indeed, the A8-6410 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the A9-9420. It also has more threads than the A9-9420. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A9-9420 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the A8-6410. Also, the A9-9420 has a significantly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the A8-6410 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the A9-9420
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the A8-6410 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
