A8-5600K vs Pentium E5800 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-5600K is faster than the Pentium E5800. Despite this, the Pentium E5800 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the A8-5600K has more threads. The Pentium E5800 outputs less heat than A8-5600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A8-5600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
