A6-9220 vs Core m5-6Y57 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core m5-6Y57 is faster than the A6-9220. Despite this, the A6-9220 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core m5-6Y57 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A6-9220 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core m5-6Y57. Also, the A6-9220 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core m5-6Y57 outputs less heat than A6-9220 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A6-9220 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core m5-6Y57

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A6-9220 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
