A6-7400K vs A8-5545M specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A8-5545M is faster than the A6-7400K. Despite this, the A6-7400K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the A8-5545M has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the A6-7400K that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A6-7400K. The A8-5545M outputs less heat than A6-7400K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the A6-7400K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
