A6-6400K vs Core i3-2310M specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-2310M performs better than the A6-6400K. Despite this, the A6-6400K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-2310M has significantly more cores with 2 cores compared to the A6-6400K that has 1 cores. It also has more threads than the A6-6400K. With our hardware info, we find that the A6-6400K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-2310M. The Core i3-2310M outputs less heat than A6-6400K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A6-6400K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
