A6-6400K vs Celeron G550 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A6-6400K is faster than the Celeron G550. Despite this, the Celeron G550 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron G550 has significantly more cores than the A6-6400K. Indeed, the Celeron G550 has 2 cores compared to 1 cores found in the A6-6400K. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A6-6400K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Celeron G550. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A6-6400K has significantly more L2 cache than the Celeron G550

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A6-6400K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
