A6-3650 vs Core i7-5500U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the A6-3650 beats the Core i7-5500U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-5500U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the A6-3650 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-5500U. Indeed, the A6-3650 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i7-5500U. But they both have the same number of threads. The Core i7-5500U outputs less heat than A6-3650 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the A6-3650 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
