A4-9125 vs A8-5550M benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the A8-5550M beats the A4-9125 in overall performance. Despite this, the A4-9125 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the A8-5550M has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the A4-9125 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A4-9125. With our hardware info, we find that the A4-9125 has a slightly higher clock speed than the A8-5550M. Despite this, the A8-5550M has a slightly higher turbo speed. A A4-9125 CPU outputs less heat than a A8-5550M CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A4-9125 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
