A4-5300 vs Pentium N4200 benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Pentium N4200 beats the A4-5300 in overall performance. Despite this, the A4-5300 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Pentium N4200 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the A4-5300 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A4-5300. The Pentium N4200 outputs less heat than A4-5300 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A4-5300 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
