A10-9600P vs Core i7-5600U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A10-9600P is faster than the Core i7-5600U. Despite this, the Core i7-5600U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the A10-9600P has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Core i7-5600U that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-5600U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the A10-9600P. Despite this, the A10-9600P has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A10-9600P has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-5600U
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A10-9600P has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
